As the title suggests, 1960s Mini Racing is one for those of you who love the period footage of Minis on the limit and, occasionally, beyond it! Made up from footage put together by Roscoe Films, we can watch Minis in the thick of the action at Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Castle Combe and Mallory. Often thrown into the Saloon car races, it’s a battle of little and large, with huge Ford Galaxies taking up much of the track space.
40 years ago, autocrossing (racing cars against the clock, driving on grass rather than tarmac) was one of Britain's most popular forms of motorsport. And this dvd helps - spectacularly - to explain why.
A unique opportunity to compare the two films made to re-launch the Mini after its initial teething problems had been ironed out. They are a monument to what became known as ‘badge engineering’ and a symptom of the later troubles that engulfed BMC. The two versions of Mini - the Austin Seven and Morris Mini-Minor - were marketed through separate sales departments. This meant the poor film crew was required to allow both Austin and Morris to take its turn in the leading role. Action shots had to be duplicated, factory sequences had to be repeated at both Longbridge and Cowley, the end result was a production which took twice as long to make at twice the price. See if you can spot the differences!
Well, we couldn’t have a quality selection of aftermarket dvds without including this, could we? If you recorded the original classic movie off the telly, perhaps bought it on VHS years ago or, for some extraordinary reason, simply don’t have it in your collection, then now is the time to put it right.
Known as the 'Golden Oldies Rally' by the irreverent, the Pirelli Classic Marathon is the longest and one of the most challenging of its kind in the world.
The 1990 event was no exception and, being the third Pirelli event, it was the first opportunity for competitors to vie for the coveted Alpine Gold Cup award.
In 1991, 130 crews from around the world gathered in London for the start of a seven-day, 2,000-mile journey through England, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Italy. The line-up featured racing legend Stirling Moss and rallying great Timo Makinen alongside the likes of Irish rally star Ronnie McCartney, MG expert Ron Gammons, John Handley, John Chatham and more. However, the real stars were the cars, and what a line-up! The field featured MGBs, Mini Coopers, Jaguars, Porsche, Aston Martin, Austin Healey, Morgan, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Mercedes and more - and all at least 25-years-old.

The Minifilms team have gathered together some of the iconic A-Series engine upgrades to demonstrate how effectively they work and which might suit the modern Mini enthusiast. A magnificent Mk1 Cooper S sets the benchmark, with a remarkable performance in the hands of Mini Miglia champion, Bill Sollis, but it's quickly followed by 1380, 7-port, turbo and supercharged examples of the breed, before being topped off with the most recent A-Series tuning fad, a K1100 BMW cylinder head on the A-series block. Own a slice of history. Very limited run DVD. It's 1969 and the Mini is at the height of its power. Watch racing legend Gordon Spice drive his Britax/Downton works Cooper S to victory around the Crystal Palace Circuit in a hugely competitive round of that year's British National Saloon Car Championship. Murray Walker is on fine form as commentator and there are several other famous names in among the other drivers. Superb archive footage and fantastically close race. A must.
