Pirelli Classic Marathon 1990

Known as the 'Golden Oldies Rally' by the irreverent, the Pirelli Classic Marathon is the longest and one of the most challenging of its kind in the world.

The 1990 event was no exception and, being the third Pirelli event, it was the first opportunity for competitors to vie for the coveted Alpine Gold Cup award.

Drivers included Stirling Moss (MGB), Paddy Hopkirk (replica Cooper S), Bobby Unser (E-type Jaguar), Roger Clark (MGB), Don Pither (Sunbeam Tiger) and Ron Gammons in another MGB.

The outcome was a hard and highly entertaining battle over the Alpine passes.
